BUILDING PERMIT RESOLUTION

Project managing building permit resolution. Communicating and managing the process with architects, engineers, contractors, and expediting firms to resolve new or existing open permits and violations against a property.

Red tape removal.

Coordination of permit removals and withdrawals representing the needs, concerns, and goals of a business, property manager, tenant, or homeowner.

Many homeowners, property managers, and tenants are unaware that there are open permits or violations on their properties with constantly evolving building codes and local laws.

As an intermediary, we take control of compliance when there is time to act and coordinate open permit resolution or violation removal. We isolate the steps and partners necessary to get to the final step of every application, which is to obtain the Letter of Completion or Certificate of Occupancy.

What is an Open Permit and Violation?

Permits are required for all building alterations and construction. An open permit is a permit that was pulled to start a project but was never closed out. Open permits can present the same issues as doing work without permits.

When a project is completed, the work must be properly inspected before the permit can be closed out. In some cases, homeowners, property managers, and tenants forget or are unaware that follow-up is necessary on their permits once construction is complete, thus resulting in an open permit.

When unsafe or hazardous conditions or work exist on a property it is deemed a violation. These can include improper framing, excessively cut and notched studs and joists, and inadequate connections between building materials. Violations occur when projects have not followed the current building codes and local laws created over the years.
