WEB DEV: SEWING LOUNGE
Sewing Lounge is a Twin Cities apparel fabric shop that needed a website to showcase fabrics, tools, patterns, PDF printing services, and classes. The project included photographing and resizing hundreds of fabric images, developing custom content, producing a virtual tour, and providing retail layout recommendations.
Virtual tailoring for tangible artistry.
Planning & strategy, photoshoots, content creation, development, design, testing, and launch. A simple list of phases that resulted in the Sewing Lounge website.
The eight month project involved developing a site map based on three personas, 1.) The Experienced Sewist, 2.) The Hobby Sewist, 3.) The Novice Sewer. The process included a dozen photoshoots to capture the extensive fabric range and tool offerings. Content creation for every webpage, image, and SEO opportunity. And making adjustments along the way to ensure all users were enticed to visit, call, or connect with Sewing Lounge.
Since the launch of the website in Spring 2024, website traffic has increased 120% YOY, in-store visits have increased by 100%, and phone calls to the store have increased by 120%.
Audited the existing website and assisted the owner to create a website that reflected the businesses unique fabrics, multi-level class offerings (including a class calendar), focused on driving new customers by prioritizing a mobile-friendly experience.
Executed twelve photoshoots that covered the vast range of apparel fabrics, tools, and equipment Sewing Lounge offers. Resized, labeled, and diligently added image descriptions for each of the approximately 300 images on the website.
